Community Outreach

The attorneys and staff of the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office strongly believe that it is very important to voluntarily contribute our time and effort beyond regular work hours to engage in community outreach efforts.

Every year, members of our Office devote countless volunteer hours to various non-profit charitable organizations and participate in special events in the Los Angeles community that enrich the lives of its residents, including children and families.  Community outreach included, but was not limited to, volunteer and collaboration efforts in the following areas:

  • Hosting foreign delegations from Ireland, Kazakhstan and Iraq to discuss juvenile justice systems in the United States and the guest countries.
  • Poll-worker Registrar-Recorders/County Clerk (Primary & General Election)
  • Girl Scouts of America
  • Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority - Homeless Court
  • Homeboy Industries
  • Parks After Dark
  • Constitutional Rights Foundation
  • Special Needs Network
  • Volunteers on Parole
  • First Annual Children’s Holiday Celebration at Sylmar Juvenile Hall
  • Thomas Jefferson High School
  • Dialogues on Freedom (LA County Bar program with high schools)
  • Union Rescue Mission
  • Schurr High School Music Boosters
